In what ways does you media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My Album cover shows both our artists face's however only half of each. The face's are cut in the middle showing the left of one and the right of the other. This has been done to show the artist's face right to the audience, the audience can then get to know both face's at the same time. Showing a artists face on the front of a album cover is a common thing in the hiphop genre however by halfing both face's it puts a new twist on the whole 'face' on album steretype.

This album cover by rihanna only shows her face, this was one of her more recent album cover's however she still wasn't that 'famous' at the time this album was released. So by putting her face on the cover of the album that would ultimately make her a world renown artist made sense. But apart from just putting her face on the album cover, she's shown covering her right eye, and her left eye is fixed on the viewer, no matter where you look from, she is still 'watching' you.
These successfull artist's use simple techniques but in a effective way to make a simple thing like their face on a album cover look appealing.
So by also showing your artists face's just on the album cover like in a lot of Hiphop album's however adding a new aspect to it, and one that would develop the convention, it add to tne effect the convention already had. Instead of just helping the album and artist to address the viewer better; it also add two personalities to the album, as there are two very different Hiphop artists, however notes their simularities as they've come together to make a single face; portraying its the 'best bit's' of both.

  2. Excellent post A run. You've talked about how you've copied rhiannas album cover. However you need to talk about how you challenged and developed forms of real media products. For example find an album cover for your genre and then show how your one is different and how you've developed/challenged it.
